The short answer
Micro-extension removal starts by assessing the method, attachments and tangling before controlled release, detangling and cleaning are planned. Afterwards, we assess your natural hair and the removed hair’s usability separately, then decide on your next look together.
At a glance
- We plan around your next goal as well as removal.
- We assess natural hair and removed strands separately.
- We explain reuse and additional care before proceeding.
Allow the right time for your appointment
Share when and how the extensions were applied if you know. Product details from another salon may help too. Telling us beforehand about heavy tangling or discomfort lets us plan realistically for gentle detangling and care as well as releasing the attachments.
Understand the current application first
We assess attachments, tangling and any scalp discomfort. Not every system uses the same product or tool; the existing application guides our removal approach. Planning professional removal instead of pulling or trying pliers or chemicals at home helps you understand what will happen and why.
Look at your natural hair afterwards
Following controlled release, tangles are gently separated and necessary cleaning is carried out. We then reassess your natural lengths and ends. Naturally shed hair retained in attachments differs from breakage; rather than dismissing the amount with one supposedly normal figure, we discuss its history and current condition together.
Reuse the hair or make a different plan?
If you want a lighter look, automatically reapplying the old quantity may not meet your goal. We check removed hair fibres, ends and suitability for new attachments separately from the load your natural hair can carry. Cutting, care or a break may be considered; same-day reapplication is not automatic.
Clarify the next look and service scope
We explain which removal, extra detangling, cleaning and care are needed before treatment. Pain, marked irritation or concerning loss may require dermatology assessment first. At our Lara consultation, we bring your goal and hair condition together and clarify time and price before your approval.
Common questions
Can I remove extensions at home?
Rather than pulling or trying pliers or chemicals, plan professional removal suited to the attachment system. Share any information about the original application with us.
Can the removed hair be reused?
We check fibres, ends and suitability for new attachments. Your natural hair’s suitability is a separate assessment, and we decide together.
What if I want to continue with my own hair?
Tell us beforehand so we can consider cutting, styling or care after removal according to the actual condition.
Plan removal around what comes next
At your free consultation, share the application date, attachment method if known and what you want afterwards. Whether renewing extensions or returning to your own hair, we can plan time, care needs and scope together.
